Jump-Starting my truck with an RC Hobby Battery – 3 cell Lipo 11.1v | RC ADVENTURES

Yup, I returned today to a dead truck. Nothing worked, and my Battery was clearly dead. I had a slow draw, or bad Battery – and unfortunately the end result was the Battery had no juice in it. No worries – this is a perfect opportunity to share a trick I learned last winter. Im using a 11.1v, 3 cell Lithium Polymer (Lipo) with a 40c Burst rating. For the purpose of this video I am using a 5000 mah Battery as it’s what I had readily available. Also, the bonus of using a larger mah rated Battery is if you need to let it sit on the car/truck/boat/ATV/tractor – you NAME IT – any Battery for a few minutes and it will give it an extra charge. 5000 mah x 40c = 200 amps – Be careful if you do this, and monitor the Lipo Battery for heat, or swelling. Its always safest to stay with your vehicle while you have a small Battery like this attached. Lipos can be very dangerous if not handled correctly – so monitoring it is best. Today, it was a quick start for my truck, and no heat was produced. I ensured my Battery was charged over 12v before I started.

Using jumper cables, a Lipo Battery “squid” connector and being careful – I was able to successfully start my truck today.

Hopefully this trick will help you in the future if you ever need it.
